【1】赔偿，补偿

②组成介词短语使用。

【例】The Buyers shall have the right to claim against the Sellers for compensation of losses within 60 days after arrival of the goods at the port of destination.

不用复数形式，前面可用a [an]，但不能用one。

【例】We are prepared to make you a reasonable compensation.
