Voice / Vocal Qualifier
音饰
A term used by some linguists as part of their analysis of the paralinguistic features of the voice. Examples are the expression of various emotional states, such as anger or sarcasm, by means of vocal effects such as a ‘harsh’ or ‘tense’ quality - effects which are sometimes specific to individual languages. The term voice quality is sometimes used in a general sense to include these effects.
