很高兴与各位朋友时隔多日后再次见面，衷心欢迎和感谢大家出席使馆举办的庆祝中国共产党成立100周年座谈会。今天时逢“七·一”，我们齐聚一堂，共同庆祝中国共产党成立100周年，回顾中国共产党走过的非凡历程及取得的伟大成就，展望中国未来美好发展前景，有着特殊意义。
I am very glad to meet you again after so many days. I sincerely welcome and thank you all for attending the symposium held by the Embassy to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
今天上午在北京举行了庆祝中国共产党成立100周年纪念大会，习近平总书记发表了重要讲话，全面总结了中国共产党带领中国人民从胜利走向胜利的辉煌百年历程，宣告中国实现了第一个百年奋斗目标，全面建成了小康社会，令人无比兴奋和自豪。
Today is July 1st, the day when the CPC was born 100 years ago. I believe it is of special significance for us to get together to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, look back to the extraordinary journey and great achievements made by the CPC, and look ahead to the bright future and promising prospect of China. A grand ceremony was held in Beijing this morning to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the CPC. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech, comprehensively summarized the past glorious century during which the CPC led the Chinese people to march from one victory to another, and announced that China has realized the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects. All of these make people feel extremely excited and proud.
100年在历史的长河中只是短短的一瞬，但过去100年在中华民族发展史上却是极不平凡、令人难忘的100年。
100 years seem like the blink of an eye in long history. But the past 100 years are truly remarkable and unforgettable in the history of the Chinese nation.
过去的100年是中国共产党由小到大、由弱到强，不断发展壮大的100年。中国共产党自1921年7月1日成立之日起，矢志践行初心使命，为赢得民族独立和人民解放、实现国家富强和人民幸福不懈奋斗，在中华民族发展史和人类社会进步史上谱写出壮丽篇章。无数共产党人前仆后继、浴血奋战、艰苦奋斗、无私奉献，为中国革命和建设做出重要贡献。中国共产党始终坚持以人民为中心，也因此赢得广大中国人民的衷心拥护。历经百年风雨，中国共产党不断发展壮大，从最初只有50多名党员发展到如今拥有9500多万名党员的世界第一大党，从一个致力于救国救民的年轻政治力量发展到如今已执政72年、经验丰富的全球最大执政党。
The past 100 years have witnessed the continuous development and growth of the CPC from a small and weak force to a large and strong one. Since its founding on July 1st, 1921, the CPC has been committed to fulfilling its original aspiration and mission, unremittingly striving to achieve national independence and people’s liberation, ceaselessly struggling to realize China’s prosperity and people’s happiness, adding an impressive and glorious chapter in the history of Chinese nation and human development. Countless communists have struggled, fought and sacrificed their lives, making significant contributions to the Chinese revolution and the building of China. The CPC always puts the people at the very center of its hearts and therefore is fully endorsed by its people. After a century of ups and downs, the CPC has been constantly growing and developing. It has grown from a small party with only around 50 members to the largest party in the world with more than 95 million members. It has grown from a young political force dedicated to saving the country and the people to the world’s largest ruling party with rich experience which has been in power for 72 years.
过去的100年是彻底改变中国和中华民族前途命运的100年。中国共产党100年来坚持把马克思主义基本原理同中国具体实际相结合，不断进行理论和实践创新，团结带领全国各族人民经过艰苦卓越的斗争，推翻了帝国主义、封建主义、官僚资本主义三座大山，建立了中华人民共和国，完成了社会主义革命，确立了社会主义基本制度，推进社会主义建设，实行改革开放，成功开创了中国特色社会主义道路。党的十八大以来，以习近平同志为核心的党中央全面推进新发展理念，构建新发展格局，推进国家治理体系和治理能力现代化，党和国家事业取得历史性成就，中国特色社会主义进入了新时代，中华民族迎来了从站起来、富起来到强起来的伟大飞跃。历史充分证明中国共产党的领导是历史和人民做出的正确选择，是中华民族得以浴火重生的坚强保障。
The past 100 years have completely transformed the fate and future of China and the Chinese nation. For the past century, the CPC has been working to combine the basic principles of Marxism with China’s practical realities and make constant theoretical and practical innovations. In the past century, the CPC rallied the Chinese people and led them in an arduous struggle, toppled the three great mountains of imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat-capitalism that were oppressing the Chinese people, established the People’s Republic of China, carried out socialist revolution, established socialism as China’s basic system, advanced socialist construction, launched reform and opening-up and blazed a new path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party’s Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has comprehensively promoted the new development philosophy, fostered new development paradigm, and modernized the state governance system and capacity. The Party and the country have made historic achievements, and socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered in a new era. Thus, the Chinese nation has saw a great leap from standing up to become much richer and stronger. History has fully proved that the leadership of the CPC is a correct choice made by history and the Chinese people, and CPC’s leadership has completely ensured the Chinese nation to be reborn from the ashes.
过去的100年是中国发生翻天覆地变化的100年。在中国共产党的坚强领导下，经过全体中国人民的艰苦努力，中国现已成为全球第一大工业国、第一大货物贸易国、第二大经济体，建立起世界上最大规模的教育体系、社保体系、医疗体系和基层民主体系。“两弹一星”、杂交水稻、载人航天、深海探测、C919大飞机、量子通信等重大科技成果振奋人心，青藏铁路、三峡工程、南水北调、西气东输、港珠澳大桥等国家工程捷报频传。脱贫攻坚取得全面胜利，人均国民收入超过1万美元。一个繁荣昌盛、日新月异的泱泱大国不断向世界呈现出中国速度、中国创造、中国智慧、中国力量和中国精彩。
The past 100 years have witnessed tremendous changes in China. Under the strong leadership of the CPC and through the hard work of all Chinese people, China has already become the largest industrial country, the biggest trader in goods and the second largest economy. China now has put in place the world’s biggest systems of education, social security, medical care and community-based institutions of democracy. We are extremely proud of our technological achievements such as “Two Bombs, One Satellite” project, hybrid rice, manned spaceflight, deep-sea exploration and Comac C919 aircraft. It is also encouraging and heartening when we hear good news about our national projects such as Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Three Gorges Dam, South-North Water Transfer, West-East Gas Pipeline and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. China has won a comprehensive victory in the fight against extreme poverty and its per capita national income exceeded 10,000 US dollars. China, a prosperous and ever-changing major country, continues to present to the world its speed, innovation, wisdom, power and splendor.
中国共产党是中国人民的主心骨，也是中国外交的定盘星。为人民谋幸福、为民族谋复兴，党的这一初心使命决定了中国外交要履行的责任与担当。中国始终是世界和平的建设者、全球发展的贡献者、国际秩序的维护者，愿扩大同各国的友好合作，推动构建以合作共赢为核心的新型国际关系和人类命运共同体。
The CPC is the backbone of the Chinese people and the anchor of China’s diplomacy. The pursuit of happiness for the people and of great renewal of the nation is the original aspiration of the Party. It determines the responsibilities and duties of China’s diplomacy. China has always been an advocate of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order. We are willing to expand friendly cooperation with other countries and promote the building of a new model of international relations with win-win cooperation at the core and the building of a global community of shared future.
今年恰逢中冰建交50周年，两国建交以来在相互尊重、平等相待、求同存异等原则基础上，不断推进双边关系向前发展。当前中冰关系面临新的机遇和挑战，中方愿同冰方一道，从两国和两国人民根本利益出发，努力深化双方务实合作，增进双向交流，扩大两国在气候变化、环境保护、抗击疫情等重大国际问题上的合作，谱写两国关系发展新篇章。
This year coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iceland. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, we have continuously advanced our bilateral relations on the basis of mutual respect, equal treatment, and seeking common ground while reserving differences. The current Sino-Icelandic relations are facing new opportunities and challenges. China is willing to work with the Icelandic side to deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote exchanges based on the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples. Moreover, China will spare no efforts to expand our cooperation on major international issues such as climate change, environmental protection and the fight against COVID-19, thus adding a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations.
中国和中冰关系的发展始终得到了旅冰华人华侨和冰岛各界友人的关心与支持，我愿借此机会向大家表示衷心感谢！
The development of China as well as the Sino-Icelandic relations has received mass support from the overseas Chinese living in Iceland and Icelandic friends from all walks of life. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to you all!
回顾中国共产党百年历史，我们豪情满怀，展望中国未来美好发展前景，我们信心倍增。中国共产党立志于中华民族千秋伟业，百年恰似风华正茂。相信在中国共产党的领导下，中国人民万众一心、顽强拼搏、不懈奋斗，到本世纪中叶将中国建设成为富强民主文明和谐美丽的社会主义现代化强国的宏伟目标一定会达到，中华民族伟大复兴的中国梦一定会实现，中国将为人类进步事业做出更大贡献。
Looking back at the 100-year history of the CPC, we are full of pride. And looking ahead to the bright future of China, we are full of confidence. The CPC is dedicated to the long-term cause of the Chinese nation. It is right in its prime at its centenary. I believe that, under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people will unite as one with a shared purpose and rely on their own efforts with unfailing perseverance. I believe that, by the middle of the 21st century, the great goal of developing China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful will definitely come true. I believe that, the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation will definitely come true, and China will make even greater contributions to the progress of mankind.
