新西兰中国商会各位成员，
女士们，先生们，朋友们，

Dear friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,
很荣幸出席新西兰中国商会2018年年会。首先，我要感谢王磊会长的热情邀请，对他成功连任和新当选的商会理事会成员表示热烈祝贺，并预祝他们工作顺利。我还要向刚刚结束任期的上一届理事会成员表示敬意，感谢他们在过去一年中的出色工作。
It’s my great honour and pleasure to attend the China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand (CCCNZ) Annual General Meeting 2018 and speak at this important gathering. First of all, I want to thank Chairman Wang for his kind invitation. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest congratulations to his re-election and the newly elected Executive Committee members. I wish all of them every success in their future endeavour. At the same time, I want to pay tribute to those Executive Committee members who have just concluded their term. They have done a great job over the past year.
自成立以来，新西兰中国商会一直致力于促进中国企业在新全面发展，促进中新经贸交流合作。商会多次举办以“关心公益，回馈当地”为主题的慈善活动，为当地社区做出贡献，体现了中国企业与当地社区共享成功、寻求共赢的理念。
Since its founding in 2015, CCCNZ has been working hard in prompting integration and development of Chinese enterprises in New Zealand, as well as the economic and trade exchanges between China and New Zealand. CCCNZ also contributes to the local community by holding Charity events with the theme of “caring for the public welfare and paying back to society”. This is a reflection of the deep value the Chinese enterprises held to share their success with local community and to seek win-win outcome.
中国高度重视中新关系。多年来，两国关系保持良好发展势头，创造了多个“第一”。2014年，习近平主席对新进行国事访问，两国宣布建立全面战略伙伴关系。去年李克强总理访新期间，两国决定启动自贸协定升级谈判，并签署了“一带一路”合作安排备忘录。中新关系的良好发展为两国经贸合作创造了有利环境。2017年，中新双边贸易额达到创纪录的261亿新元，中国成为新西兰第一大贸易伙伴。双边投资存量超过100亿新元。两国人员交流蓬勃发展，赴新旅游的中国游客人数超过40万。运营中新航线的航空公司数量不断增加，旺季时两国之间每周有80个直飞航班。
China attaches great importance to its relations with New Zealand. Over the years, China-New Zealand relationship has maintained a good momentum of development. We are proud of the long list of “Firsts” in China-New Zealand relations. In 2014, we fostered Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President Xi Jinping’s state visit to New Zealand. Last year, the two countries decided to launch the negotiation to upgrade the FTA, and signed Memorandum of Arrangement on Strengthening Cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) during Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to New Zealand. The sound development of China-New Zealand relations creates a favourable environment for businesses exchanges between the two countries. Last year, our bilateral trade volume hit a record high of $26.1 billion, making China New Zealand’s largest partner in the trade of goods. Two-way investment reached more than 10 billion New Zealand dollars in accumulative manner. People-to-people exchanges also flourished. There were more than 400,000 Chinese visitors to New Zealand last year. As a result, more airlines operate between China and New Zealand, with 80 direct flights every week in peak seasons.
今年是中国改革开放40周年。习近平主席多次强调，中国将继续坚持改革开放的基本国策，坚定不移地贯彻创新、协调、绿色、开放、共享的新发展理念。今年上半年，中国经济延续了总体平稳、稳中向好的发展态势，国内生产总值同比增长6.8%，远高于之前设定6.5%左右的年增长目标。从产业结构看，第三产业同比增长7.6%，超过第一产业和第二产业。我们相信，中国经济在今年下半年将继续保持平稳健康发展。
This year marks 40 anniversary of China’s reform and opening- up. As President Xi Jinping emphasized time and again reform and opening-up will continue to be the key to China’s development and modernization. China will remain committed to the new development philosophy, that is, innovation-driven, coordinated, green and open development for all. We’ll pay more attention to the quality and sustainability of development rather than speed of GDP growth. In the first half of this year, the economy registered a slower but stable performance with good momentum for growth. The GDP expanded 6.8 percent year-on-year, well above the government’s annual growth target of around 6.5 percent. The tertiary industry expanded 7.6 percent year-on-year, outpacing the primary and secondary industries. We are confident that the economy will remain stable in the rest of the year.
在今年4月举行的博鳌亚洲论坛2018年年会上，习近平主席重申，中国将继续坚持对外开放基本国策，打开国门搞建设。习主席宣布，中国将大幅度放宽市场准入，创造更有吸引力的投资环境，加强对知识产权的保护，并主动扩大进口。未来5年，中国预计将进口8万亿美元商品，吸引6000亿美元外国投资，并实现对外投资7500亿美元。我们将于今年11月在上海举行首届国际进口博览会。
At the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia held last April, President Xi Jinping stressed that China will continue to adhere to it fundamental national policy of opening-up and pursue development with its door wide open. He announced that China will significantly broaden market access, create a more attractive investment environment, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and take the initiative to expand imports. In the next 5 years, China is expected to import US$ 8 trillion worth of goods, attract US$600 billion worth of foreign investment and make a total of US$750 billion outbound investment.
与此同时，我们也要认识到，中国不可能在孤立于世界之外的情况下实现发展。中国的发展需要稳定、和平、繁荣的世界。一个更加强大、更加自信的中国将为国际社会作出更大贡献。中国愿同包括新西兰在内的其他国家一道，让世界更加美好。
At the same time, we fully recognize that China can’t achieve development in isolation from the world. China’s development needs a stable, peaceful and prosperous world. A stronger and more confident China will be able to make even greater contribution to the international community, and together with other countries including New Zealand, make this world a much better place for all.
中国始终是世界和平的建设者、全球发展的贡献者、国际秩序的维护者。中国积极致力于推动建设新型国际关系，构建人类命运共同体。
Therefore China stays determined as ever to build world peace, contribute to global prosperity and uphold the international order. China strongly promotes the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.
为解决全球和地区经济发展问题，习近平主席2013年提出“一带一路”倡议，旨在促进政策沟通、设施联通、贸易畅通、资金融通和民心相通。自两国签署“一带一路”合作安排备忘录以来，双方一直就制定合作规划纲要保持密切沟通。“一带一路”倡议取得成功，需要公共和私营部门加强合作，希望两国工商界为此做出贡献。
In 2013, President Xi Jinping put forward the Belt and Road Initiative, with a view of solving problems in the global and regional economy. The initiative is aimed to promote exchange of goods, technology, capital and personnel through mutual connectivity. Since the signing of the Memorandum of Arrangement on cooperation on BRI, China and New Zealand have been working on an Action Plan to implement the Memorandum. The success of the Belt and Road Initiative calls for increased partnership between public and private sector. In this regard, the business communities of both countries can make their due contributions.
经济合作是中新关系的基石和推动器，两国在此领域取得了非凡的成就。只要双方携手合作，进一步挖掘潜力，两国经济合作将获得更大发展。衷心希望今天在座的各位能够携手前行，为中新合作更加美好的未来而共同努力。
Economic cooperation is the bedrock and propeller of China-New Zealand relations. It has been remarkable that tremendous achievements have been made in China-New Zealand economic cooperation. And it will be even more remarkable if the business community of both countries join hands to further tap the potential of the already successful cooperation. It depends on you people who are here today to work harder for an even brighter future of China-New Zealand Cooperation.
