【1】确认，证实

 

①【例】Please confirm receipt of this shipment in due time.

收到此批货物时，请及时确认。

 

②可用其现在分词短语Confirming...或动名词短语In confirming...作句子状语。

【例】(In) Confirming our telephone conversation this morning, we can offer you the consignment of 40 tons of groundnuts, at the special low price of US $200 per ton FOB Dalian.

现确认我们今日上午的电话，我们能向贵方报盘40吨花生，大连离岸特别价格每吨200美元。

 

③confirm用动名词作宾语时，一般要用完成式动名词，因为confirm（确认）的事情总是先发生的。

【例】We hereby confirm having sold to you the following goods on terms and conditions as specified below: ...

兹确认已按如下条件售给你方下列货物：……

 

④接用that从句。

【例】We wish to confirm to you that our principals in Japan will ship the raw materials to be processed directly to Xingang.

我们想向你方确认，我方日本的业主要将需要加工的原材料直接发运到新港。

 

【2】保兑，保付

 

①【例】The credit will be established by the Bank of China, Beijing Branch and confirmed by the Bank of Japan, Tokyo.

②用过去分词作定语。

【例】For payment, we require confirmed and irrevocable L/C.
