Augmentative

指大词缀

A term used in morphology to refer to an affix with the general meaning of “large”, used literally or metaphorically (often implying awkwardness or ugliness). Examples of augmentatives include -one in Italian and -ón in Spanish (e.g. sillón “armchair”, cf. silla “chair”). The term is usually contrasted with diminutive.

形态学用来指表示一般“大”的意义的词（常有笨拙或难看的含义）。例如意大利语里的-one和西班牙语里的-ón（如sillón“扶手椅”，比较silla“椅子”）。通常与指小词缀对立。
