On the occasion of the 76th birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty.
在苏丹陛下英明领导下，文莱经济社会发展取得积极成就，人民生活幸福。尽管遭受疫情影响，但疫后经济复苏的步伐不断加快。
Under the wise leadership of His Majesty, Brunei has made remarkable progress in its economic and social development with its people in happy life. Despite the impact of the pandemic, Brunei has been gathering strength in post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
中国与文莱交往历史悠久，建交31年来，双边关系不断巩固，政治互信日益加强，中文战略合作伙伴关系不断发展。两国各领域务实合作持续拓展，给两国人民带来实实在在的利益。在抗疫合作中相互支持、守望相助，人民情谊更加深厚。2021年中文贸易克服疫情影响达28.5亿美元，创历史新高。2022年初，《区域全面经济伙伴关系协定》的生效为中文经贸合作共赢带来更加广阔前景。
China and Brunei have a long history of exchanges. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 31 years ago, bilateral relations have been consolidated constantly. Political mutual trust has been strengthened and the China-Brunei strategic cooperative partnership has been developed in a steady way. Pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in various fields has been expanding, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of the two countries. The two countries supported and helped each other in anti-pandemic cooperation, which deepened the friendship between the two peoples. In 2021, even with the impact of COVID-19, China-Brunei trade reached a record high of US$2.85 billion. The entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in early 2022 has brought about broader prospects for win-win economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
去年文莱担任东盟轮值主席，中国-东盟关系提升为全面战略伙伴关系，开启了中国-东盟关系的新阶段。中国愿与文莱加强合作，共同推进全球发展倡议，共建团结、平等、均衡、普惠的全球发展伙伴关系，努力实现更加强劲、绿色、健康的全球发展。中国愿与文莱共创发展机遇，共享发展成果，为维护和平、发展与繁荣做出贡献。
Last year, Brunei assumed the annual rotating chairmanship of ASEAN, and China-ASEAN relations were upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, opening up new prospects for China-ASEAN relations. China will strengthen the cooperation with Brunei, promote the Global Development Initiative, and forge a united, equal, balanced and inclusive global development partnership together with a view to achieving a stronger, greener and healthier global development. China is willing to work with Brunei to explore development prospects, share growth development, and make new contribution to peace, development and prosperity.
中国坚持统筹疫情防控和经济社会发展，采取有效举措，巩固疫情防控成果，努力实现全年经济社会发展目标。中国将立足新发展阶段，贯彻新发展理念，积极构建新发展格局，努力实现高质量发展。
China has taken well-coordinated steps to respond to COVID-19 and pursue economic and social development, and adopted more forceful measures to consolidate the gains made in COVID-19 response and deliver the economic and social development goals for the whole year. We will ground our efforts in the new development stage, follow the new development philosophy, foster a new development paradigm and strive to achieve high-quality development.
