【1】适合的，符合的

 

①很少用作定语，多用作补语。

【例】We are sending you some samples and hope one or more of them will be found fit for your requirements.

我们寄上样品若干，希望其中将有一部分符合你方的需要。

 

②句式：think [see] fit to do sth（后面可接用不定式）。

【例】We think fit to urge you to respond to our offer as soon as possible so that we may take good care of your demands.

我们认为有必要敦促你方对我方报价尽速作出反应，以便优先照顾你方需求。

【例】Please do not hesitate to ask for more samples if you think this selection do not fit well.

如贵方认为此次选送的样品不很合适，尽可索取其他样品。

 

【3】fit into适合于

 

【例】Our corporation handles a wide range of products, most of which may well fit into your sales programme.

我公司经营的品种广泛，大部分都很适合于你方销售。

 

【4】fit in with符合，配合

 

【例】You will notice that the modified stipulation will fit in better with the actual needs.

你方会发现，修改后的规定要符合实际需要。

常用复数形式。

【例】Party B shall be responsible to provide Party A with documents relevant to the said technical know-how and with special fittings of the sample-machine.

乙方须向甲方提供与上述专有技术有关的资料和样机所需的配件。

 

fix

【1】确定，决定

 

【例】The freight is fixed at $28. f.i.o.s. per long ton on the quantity loaded.

运费按货物装船的数量计算，每长吨28元，船方不负责装卸及理船费用。

注：f.i.o.s. [FIOS]（free in and out, stowed）是指货物的装、卸及理船费用都归租船人负责。

 

【2】fix up安排，安置

 

【例】Our order calls for 5 000 sets of transistors, I wonder if you could fix it up.

我方订单要求5000台半导体收音机，不知你方能否安排妥当。
