【例】Our manager has been given full executive powers in this matter.

在这件事上，我方经理已被授予充分的执行权力。

 

【2】行政人员，经理

 

①【例】Sony sent its senior executives to negotiate with ABC Company.

索尼公司派遣其高级成员同ABC公司会谈。

 

②表示属于某公司行政人员时，executive后应接用with +某公司。

【例】My friend Dick is an executive with an international computer company.

我的朋友迪克是一家国际电脑公司的（总）经理。

【1】免除

 

①后面常接用from sth。

【例】This is definitely a case of negligence for which the Carrier cannot be exempted from liability.

这肯定是一种失职所造成的事故，承运人应负责任[不能逃避责任]。

 

②偶尔接用动词不定式。

【例】In case war risk insurance is not obtainable, the seller is exempted to effect such insurance.如果无法投保战争险，则卖方可不必投保这一险别。

 

【2】免除的

 

仅可用作句中表语，接用from，句式：be exempt from sth。

【例】Foreign investors are exempt from tariffs and import-related value-added taxes for projects encouraged and supported by the Chinese government.

现在对中国政府鼓励和支持的项目进行投资，外国投资者可以免除关税和与进口有关的增值税。
