【1】合同，合约

 

①【例】We have recently entered into a contract for a sufficient supply of bitter apricot kernels.我们新近签订了一份苦杏仁合同，苦杏仁的数量可观。

 

②有时contract用作定语，等于contracted或contractual。

【例】Will you open a relevant L/C for the contract goods?

请为合同订购的货物开出相应的信用证好吗？

 

【2】合同所订的货物

 

【例】The said contract is already being manufactured, therefore no change can be made now.

该合同的货物现已开始制造，因此不能改变了。

 

【3】under contract受合同约束

 

【例】We are under contract with ABC Trading Co. to supply bitter apricot kernels.

我们同ABC贸易公司签有合同，供应他们苦杏仁。

 

【4】收缩

 

【例】We regret that world trade has begun contracting.

很遗憾世界贸易已开始收缩。

 

【5】订（合同、契约）

 

【例】The insurance shall be contracted with underwriters or insurance companies of good repute.应该向有良好信誉的承保人或保险公司投保。

 

【6】contract for签约规定

 

①【例】You contracted for a top quality product, but you did not deliver what was promised.

你们签约规定为优质品，而所交的货物却不是优质品。

 

②过去分词可用作后置定语。

【例】If the L/C should arrive after that date, it might be necessary for us to make certain alterations on the goods contracted for.

如信用证逾期到达，我们对合同所订货物可能需作某些变动。
