【1】接触，联系

 

①在英国常用单数，在美国常用复数。后常接用with sb。

【例】In order to expand business contacts and cooperative relations with you, we have given you our Quotations for your required special products by adding only 10% to the normal ones.

为发展你我之间业务联系和合作关系，我们对于你方所需特殊产品的报价仅在标准产品价格的基础上增加了10%。

 

②常搭配成make contact with（与……联系）使用。

【例】We will make contact with the end-users here and see whether they are interested in the goods you offered.

我们将同此地用户联系，看他们是否对你方所报货物感兴趣。

 

③还有其他动词或动词短语常与contact配合使用。

【例】We have the pleasure of writing to get into contact with you in the hope of establishing business relations with you in this line.

我们特此愉快地写信与你方联系，希望在这方面与贵方建立业务关系。

 

【2】in contact with与……接触，同……联系

 

常用作表语。

【例】Have you been in contact with that firm recently?

你们最近同那家公司有联系吗？

工厂有价值100万英镑的机械。

 

②过去分词可用作定语。

【例】This Agreement shall continue for two years, subject to termination by notice in writing to the Consignee, if the Consignee should breach any of the terms and provisions contained herein.

本协议有效期为两年。如承销人违反本协议中任何条款与规定，则书面通知承销人即可终止本协议。

 

③现在分词短语用作后置定语。

【例】As you are our agent, we would request you to send use very three months a market report containing buyers’ comments on our products, estimated requirements for our products within the near three months, etc.

由于你方是代理，我们要求你方每三个月寄来市场报告一份，内有买主对我方产品的意见，未来三个月内对我方产品的预计需要量等等。
