【1】佣金

 

①用作不可数名词（单数形式）。

【例】The above price includes your commission.

上列价格包括给你方的佣金。

 

②也可用作可数名词（不过“几笔佣金”不可说several commissions，应说成several items of commission）。

【例】We allowed them a commission of 3 per cent.

我们给予他们3%的佣金。

 

③后面可接用on。

【例】I will give a fair commission on the transaction.

对这笔交易我会给你一笔相当大的佣金。

 

④可作定语。

【例】You know we are commission agents.

你们知道我们是佣金代理商。

 

【2】委员会

 

【例】The decision made by the Arbitration Commission shall be regarded as final and binding on both parties.

仲裁委员会所做的决定应视为终局的，对双方都有约束力。

 

【3】委托或代理的事项

 

【例】We assure you that any commissions you may confide to us will be carried out to your satisfaction.

我们保证，定能将贵方委托事项办理得令贵方满意。

 

【4】委托

 

【例】We are commissioned by our manufacturers to buy steel plates, and have pleasure in contacting you for this purpose.

我们受制造厂委托购买钢板，为此我们高兴地同贵方进行联系。

commit

使……承担责任[义务]

 

【1】commit oneself让（自己）承担责任，承诺（订货）

 

①【例】We wish to be able to ship the goods well ahead of the shipping schedule, but we cannot commit ourselves.

我们希望能按装船计划提前装运，但不能为此承担责任。

 

②后面可接用不定式。

【例】The supplier commits himself to ship the goods in 3 equal lots in the next quarter.

供方允诺在下个季度内分三批平均交货。

 

③后面可接用介词to。

【例】For the time being, we cannot commit ourselves to any new orders.

目前，我们不能接受任何新订单。

 

【2】be committed承担任务，接受订货

 

①【例】Our factories are fully committed for the third quarter.

我方工厂第三季度的订货已接满。

 

②后面可接用介词to。

【例】Our manufacturers are heavily committed to orders for many months ahead.

我方工厂在今后好多月份内执行订货任务都很繁重。
