【2】博得

 

①【例】The camera of Japanese make is commanding a fine reputation here.

日本产的照相机在此地博得好评。

 

②使用其动名词短语。

【例】A comparison of our price with the market will convince you that our product has every probability in commanding ready sales.

以我方商品价格同市价相比，将使你方深信我方产品极有可能畅销。

 

commence

【1】开始

 

【例】Lay days: not to commence before July 10, 2002.

装卸货时间：2002年7月10日以后开始。

 

【2】使开始，着手

 

①【例】As we are among the largest exporters of this article, we have pleasure in submitting herewith our samples and see if we could commence business with your firm.

由于我们是这种商品的最大出口商之一，我们高兴地随函寄出样品，看看能否与你公司开展业务。

 

②可接用不定式或动名词。句式：come to do [doing] sth。

【例】After signing the contract, we shall commence to get [getting] the goods ready for shipment.签订合同以后，我们将着手备货以便装运。

 

【3】commence with（某一期限）自……开始

 

【例】Seller shall deliver the goods to buyer within thirty days commencing with [on and from] July 30, 2002.

卖方应自2002年7月30日起在30天内将货物运交给买方。

 

commend

把……交给

 

后面多接用介词to。

【例】We commend the above to your careful consideration and are looking forward to your reply.现将上述情况提交你方仔细考虑，盼回复。
