①除表示各种船货用cargos外，一般用作不可数名词。

【例】The cargo was damaged during transit.

货物在运输途中受损。

 

②有时cargo转为“货主”的意思。

【例】Freight rate: US$7 per MT Net FIO A/P, if any, for account of cargo.

运费率：每公吨7美元，净，船方不负责装卸费。如有逾龄船保险费，由货主负责。

 

【2】一批船货

 

【例】There is a cargo of lumber arriving on this steamer.

该轮运来一批木材。

整车的载货量

 

【例】The railway freight rates for carload shipments are lower than those for less than carload shipments.

铁路的整车装货运费率比零担装货的运费率低廉些。

 

carriage

【1】运输

 

【例】In accordance with the agreed shipping arrangements, the seller may contract for the carriage of goods in a vessel of the type or class customary to the trade.

根据双方同意的船运安排，卖方可以选择贸易上通常使用的类型或级别的船只装运货物。

 

【2】运费

 

【例】Please return carriage forward the goods we sent in error.

请将我方错发的货物退回，退货的运费到付。
