【1】商业，业务，生意

 

①一般用作不可数名词，前面不用冠词。

【例】We have done excellent business with your glassware this year.

今年我们经营你方玻璃产品的业务搞得不错。

 

②当business有定语修饰时，其前可加a表示“一种……业务”。

【例】I believe that we could do a large import business in Chinese fruits.

我相信我们能够经营大量进口中国果品的业务。

 

③经营何种商品，可接用in sth，句式：do business in sth。

【例】TOTAL CFP also does business in chemicals, uranium ore, coal mining, etc.

道达尔法国石油公司还经营化学品、铀矿石、煤矿开采等等

 

【2】商号，商行

 

【例】We have purchased the toy business carried on by Mr. Smith for so many years.

我们收购了史密斯先生经营多年的玩具店。

 

【3】职责，事务

 

【例】We have three businesses to talk over with your agent.

我们有三件事要同你方代理人商谈。

 

作“事务”讲时，business与affair通用，不过affair常用复数。

【例】Mind your own business [affairs].

少管闲事。

 

【4】in… business在经营……业务

 

【例】This is really the first time I’m in business for myself.

这可真是我头一回自己经商（指并非受雇于他人）。

 

【5】go into business从事商业,“下海”

 

【例】He will go into business when he leaves school.

他毕业后将去经商。

 

【6】on business因事，因公

 

【例】Our sales manager, Mr. B, will be in Paris on business for ten days.

我方销售经理B先生要因公到巴黎10天。
