①【例】For every 50 pieces sold in excess of the quota, we will get 1% more in commission for our efforts.

超过定额时，每多销50台我们所得的佣金就增加1%。

 

②用作定语组成复合词语。

【例】Some countries have quota controls.

有些国家实行定额控制。

【1】报价（指行动）

 

【例】We invite quotation of the lowest price.

我们恳请报出最低价格。

 

【2】报价，报价函

 

①【例】We shall now seek quotations from other dealers, but may find it necessary to refer to you again.

现在我们寻求其他贸易商给予报价，也可能还要再向你公司询价。

 

②可接用for或on。

【例】We should be obliged if you would give us a quotation for (the supply of) 200 kitchen cupboards.

如蒙寄来200件厨房碗柜的报价，则不胜感激。

 

③买方提到卖方已对某货做出的报价时，可用of。

【例】Your quotation of sewing machines is too high to be acceptable.

你方缝纫机的报价太高，不能接受。

 

④可用作定语。

【例】We shall send you our quotation sheet soon.

我们将很快寄去报价单。

注：quotation sheet [form, list, letter]都是“报价单”，简称quotation。

【1】引用，复述

 

【例】The Buyer is requested always to quote the number of this sales confirmation in the L/C to be opened in favour of the Seller.

买方在开给售方的信用证上务请填注本销售确认书号码。

 

【2】给……报价，报（价）

 

①直接宾语常为“价格”（price），FOB、CIF等价格条件，或价格加FOB等条件。

【例】Please quote (us) your lowest price.

请报出你方最低价格。

 

②表示对某货物报价或某项费率时，可接用for或on。

【例】We have quoted them the price CIF Hamburg for our printed shirting.

我们已将印花细布的CIF汉堡价报给他们。

 

③有时把宾语price省去，仅用人称代词作宾语。

【例】When we know your specific requirements, we shall quote you as soon as possible.

当我们得知你方具体需要时，当尽速报出价格。

 

【3】报价，报价单

 

此为口语，= quotation。

【例】We sent you a written quote yesterday.

我们昨天给你们寄去了一份报价单。
