2nd Workshop on Speech Perception and Production across the Lifespan

Call for papers

We invite submissions for oral and poster presentations. Presentations can include or consist of demonstrations of tests and software. We will prioritise submissions that report experimental and modelling studies relating to more than one age group or longitudinal work.

We invite submissions on the following topics:

1. Changes in acoustic-phonetic and articulatory measures of speech production across age groups

2. Changes in speech perception abilities across age groups

3. Individual differences

4. Impact of changes in auditory, cognitive and/or attentional skills on speech communication across age groups

5. Impact of sociophonetic factors on speech communication across age groups

6. Impact of learning/training across different age groups

7. Speech communication in adverse conditions across different age groups

8. Research on speech and communication development in atypical populations across different age groups

9. Discourse: structure, repair strategies, dysfluencies

10. Methodological issues in lifespan studies of speech communication (experimental design, software, materials)

Workshop location

UCL is situated in Bloomsbury, near the centre of London, close to the West End. It is well-served by a variety of public transport services.

Chandler House is one of the homes of the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences at UCL. It is located in Wakefield Street, about 500m south of King’s Cross and St. Pancras stations. It is not recommended that you travel by car, since no visitor parking spaces are available. Also Chandler House is located within the London Congestion Charge Zone.
