Peak

峰

In phonetics and phonology, a term used to characterize a relatively high level of prominence; opposed to valley or trough. In metrical grid theory, peaks (v. troughs) are rhythm prominences. A trochaic rhythm starts with a left-edge peak or a right-edge trough; an iambic rhythm starts with a left-edge trough or a right-edge peak.

语音学和音系学术语，指相对较高的突显；与谷（valley或trough）对立。在节律棚理论中，峰（对立于谷）是节奏的突显。扬抑格节奏以一个左边缘峰或右边缘谷开始；抑扬格节奏则以一个左边缘谷或右边缘峰开始。
